IPS e.max CAD: Implant-supported crowns that will satisfy for many years

The clinical long-term behaviour of IPS e.max CAD ceramic crowns was examined in a study conducted at the University of Freiburg.

For the purpose of this study, monolithic restorations were fabricated with IPS e.max CAD LT blocks. The restorations were cemented on four anterior and 20 posterior implants with the adhesive technique using Multilink Automix.

The results of the study were very clear: The implant-supported IPS e.max CAD crowns showed excellent long-term clinical performance. The restorations exhibited minimal susceptibility to fracturing and staining. They also demonstrated outstanding marginal seal and exceptional esthetics and contours. Minor delamination occurred in only one crown. After five years in situ, none of the implant-supported IPS e.max CAD crowns had to be replaced. Therefore, the survival rate is 100 per cent.
