The innovative IPS e.max ZirCAD zirconium oxide material is characterized by high stability, flexural strength and fracture toughness in addition to natural esthetics. This allows users to design restorations with significantly reduced wall thicknesses. The range of indications includes crowns and bridges as well as implant-supported superstructures.
The IPS e.max ZirCAD product offering has now been extended to include new discs (98.5 mm) and blocks (e.g. for inLab*) in additional A–D shades. The LT material (low translucency) is now available in the eight most popular shades. The LT discs in group shades will continue to be available. The IPS e.max ZirCAD MT Multi material is now also available in a Bleach BL shade as well as seven A–D shades. The progression of shade and translucency of the polychromatic material maximizes the esthetic effect of monolithic crowns and bridges without necessitating the application of characterizations and optimizes the efficiency in the dental lab.
IPS e.max ZirCAD discs are designed for processing in the PrograMill and other CAD/CAM machines that can hold 98.5-mm discs. As a new feature, the discs can now also be machined in the inLab MC X5 (Dentsply Sirona). Moreover, it has recently become possible to process CAD/CAM discs of other material classes in the MC X5 unit, such as the tooth-coloured SR Vivodent CAD discs and the gingiva-coloured IvoBase CAD discs for digitally manufactured dentures, Telio CAD for temporary restorations and the ProArt CAD discs. The latter are process-supporting auxiliary materials designed to facilitate specific steps in the digital process chain.
