The IPS e.max Press lithium disilicate glass ceramic (LS2) system for the press technique has played a prominent part in restorative dentistry for more than 15 years. Its high strength, proven durability, efficient application and exceptional esthetics are properties that determine its success. Effective: new shades added to the MT range of ingots With their medium translucency, the MT ingots are ideally suited for monolithic restorations. Their well-balanced relationship between brightness and translucency allows for natural esthetics. The existing range of MT ingots has now been extended to include five new shades: A3.5, B2, C1, C2, D2. The press ingots are supplied in two sizes and in the characteristically high strength of the IPS e.max Press range.
Minimally invasive: high precision even at minimal wall thicknesses IPS e.max Press is the ideal all-ceramic material for minimally invasive restorations: Thanks to its high flexural strength (470 MPa)1 and high fracture toughness (2.5-3 MPa ∙ m1/2)2, even thin wall thicknesses can be reliably transferred into ceramic. The outstanding marginal quality and accuracy of fit allow minimum wall thicknesses of 0.3 millimetres for veneers. Monolithic crowns require a thickness of 1 millimetre.
Fast: economically efficient application IPS e.max Press is designed for efficiency. Up to six restorations can be pressed in a single press procedure in the Programat press furnace (Ivoclar Vivadent). The combination with digital production methods provides further increases in efficiency (e.g. PrograPrint 3D printing system, Ivoclar Vivadent). Restorations can now be produced even faster: with the new shades of the IPS e.max Press MT range, users can achieve the desired shade and correct chroma directly without additional effort. Individual touches can be efficiently applied to monolithic restorations using the staining technique (e.g. with the IPS Ivocolor stain and glaze range from Ivoclar Vivadent).
